Summary of Friday’s Trigger Trades:
A short in Sonic Corp (SONC) was triggered by exceeding 29.27. The stock hit a low of 28.78 before closing at 29.07.
A short in Synaptics (SYNA) was triggered by exceeding 61.82. The stock hit a low of 61.19 before closing at 61.36.
The short in Petmed Express was not triggered as the stock opened below its trigger point and never exceeded the opening bar low.
All short trades were closed out at then end of the day for a total profit of 0.64 cents.
So theoretically, if a student sold-short 500 shares of each stock at one tick below its short trigger point, and covered somewhere between the low point of the day and the close, they would have made a minimum profit of $320 before commissions. Max profit on the two trades was $555 before commissions.
These trades are being shown so students can evaluate the performance and effectiveness of trading with trigger points. They results should not be considered typical, as actual results will likely vary considerably from the the performance shown above.
